Stay Safe Out There!

You can take Kickbikes on the road and cycle paths, but please wear a bicycle helmet and follow standard road rules.  Kickbikes meet the legal definition of a bicycle in New Zealand.

Because of the low foot plate, Kickbikes are not suitable for rough off-road use (sorry Mountain Bikers!).

Kickbikes are designed for adult proportions and we do not recommend them for children under the age of about 10, depending on height and experience with bikes or scooters.  Apart from helmets, the other safety consideration is to avoid kicking with loose shoe-laces or other loose objects around your ankles, as these can become caught in the front wheel spokes as you kick.

Your Kickbike will attract interest and attention wherever you go.  Enjoy it, and don’t forget to use a good bike lock.
